2016 Infosys Prize for Professor Kaivan Munshi

Professor Kaivan Munshi has been awarded the 2016 Infosys Prize in the Social Sciences.


The Infosys Prize is the most prestigious academic prize in India and
it was awarded to Professor Munshi in recognition of his analysis of the
multifaceted role of communities, such as ethnic groups and castes, in
the process of economic development.

Previous winners of this prize include
Abhijit Banerjee, MIT (2009), Raghuram Rajan, University of Chicago
(2011), and Esther Duflo, MIT (2014).
