Women in Economics Day

The University of Cambridge's first "Women in Economics Day" event is being held on 15th September 2015 at Gonville & Caius College Cambridge. The event hopes to produce a focus for debate, discussion and information intended to inspire young women aged 16-18 to consider studying Economics at degree level and pursuing the subject in their careers.

High-profile speakers including:

  • Kate Barker - Member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee for nine years and advisor to government on numerous policy issues
  • Vicky Pryce - Former joint head of the Government Economic Service; author of Greekonomics, examining the crisis in the Eurozone
  • Liam Halligan - Economics Columnist for The Sunday Telegraph
  • Victoria Bateman - Cambridge Economist and feminist
