Lockdowns Widen the Gender Gap in Mental Health

Dr. Christopher Rauh has published an article for VOXeu that looks at how women have suffered far more from social distancing measures than men in terms of their mental health. The column, "Lockdowns Widen the Gender Gap in Mental Health", joint with Abigail Adams-Prassl (University of Oxford), Teodora Boneva (University of Zurich) and Marta Golin (University of Oxford), reports that Women, the young, and the less educated have borne the brunt of the economic damage caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns in terms of job and earnings losses.
